From first steps to remarkable achievements in genetics
Starting in Hanoi with the aspiration to “pioneer the field of genetics,” GENTIS was among the first institutions in Vietnam to introduce access to genetic science – a technology largely unfamiliar to most people at that time. Driven by strong faith in the future, within just three years, GENTIS opened a branch in Ho Chi Minh City, marking the first step in bringing the world’s most advanced genetic technology closer to Vietnamese people.
In 2015, GENTIS became the first DNA laboratory in Vietnam to achieve ISO 9001:2015 certification, with its testing systems built according to the recommendations of the U.S. FBI. This was not only an achievement but a strong affirmation of GENTIS’s commitment to quality and international standards as the foundation for its development.
Continuing its growth, in 2017 GENTIS expanded into oncology and infectious disease testing. By 2018, GENTIS reached the international stage as an official partner of Illumina (USA), the world leader in gene sequencing.
From 2019 to 2020, GENTIS focused on providing genetic analysis solutions to support reproductive health and comprehensive healthcare, consistently placing people at the center of every development strategy.
In 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic posed a significant test for the healthcare sector, and GENTIS stepped up. The company became one of the few private healthcare facilities certified for SARS-CoV-2 testing, collaborating with Hanoi CDC on large-scale community testing campaigns. GENTIS staff worked tirelessly on the front lines, collecting samples and running tests, contributing to the protection of millions of people across the country.
In 2022, GENTIS officially became a member of Eurofins – the world’s leading medical group – marking a historic turning point and elevating GENTIS to an international brand. This was not just a legal merger but a complete transformation in processes, personnel, mindset, and technology.
Building on this success, in 2024 Eurofins – GENTIS inaugurated a new, modern 2,000 m² headquarters in central Hanoi, a significant step in both scale and readiness to meet the growing and increasingly complex testing needs of domestic and international clients.
GENTIS hosts CAP expert delegation to evaluate Hanoi laboratory
After more than a year of relentless effort, hundreds of strict criteria, and thousands of hours of quality inspections, in June 2025, Eurofins – GENTIS became the pioneering unit in Vietnam to achieve CAP certification for two core genetic tests: PGT and NIPT. For the first time, a genetic testing facility in Vietnam was recognized internationally at the highest level for quality and expertise in the two most advanced techniques in reproductive support and prenatal screening. This achievement was not only GENTIS’s success but also a step forward for Vietnam’s biomedical industry on the global map.
Raising the standards of Vietnamese genetic medicine
GENTIS has contributed not only to its own growth but also to the advancement of Vietnam’s biomedical sector. Deep genetic tests, which previously had to be sent abroad at high costs, can now be performed domestically with equivalent quality. As shared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tao, Chairman of the Hanoi Association for Reproductive Support: “GENTIS participates in conferences, workshops, and scientific activities both in-person and online. With its professional expertise, personnel, and advanced medical equipment and technology, GENTIS has helped introduce modern genetic testing technologies in Vietnam, particularly in reproductive support.”
Prof. Tao added: “Previously, many genetic tests for reproductive support had to be done overseas at high costs. Now, units like GENTIS have applied advanced technology and equipment locally, playing a crucial role in developing Vietnam’s reproductive support sector and improving success rates. As a result, infertile couples, including overseas Vietnamese, can now return to Vietnam for reproductive support services.”
Moreover, GENTIS actively collaborates with hospitals, universities, and international organizations to bring applied scientific value closer to the Vietnamese medical community.
Linking business growth with social responsibility
Beyond professional development, GENTIS pursues community initiatives, such as:
- Providing free DNA testing to help issue birth certificates for children in special circumstances
- Donating testing kits and supporting frontline staff during the Covid-19 pandemic
- Offering free HPV-DNA tests for women in Phu Ninh District
- Giving newborn clothes and teddy bears to hundreds of new mothers at Thanh Nhan Hospital
- Donating and supporting Central Vietnam communities affected by floods and storms
- Awarding scholarships in genetic biomedical studies to talented students at Hanoi Medical University
- In 2025, in partnership with Dantri newspaper, GENTIS provided DNA tests for family reunification, helping four families reconnect after years apart – a journey of restoring love through the power of science.

Over 15 years, equipment and technology may evolve, but the soul of GENTIS lies in its people. From resident doctors, R&D specialists, project managers, sample collectors, lab technicians, business and customer care staff, to HR, accounting, marketing, legal, ISO, and procurement teams – all are professionally trained, continuously updating their knowledge and skills.
GENTIS leadership recognizes that quality is the company’s core value, and thus has built a dedicated, loyal, and constantly improving workforce.
To nurture this internal “family,” GENTIS organizes annual events such as Year-End Party, Lunar New Year outings, annual trips, comprehensive health checkups, company birthdays, and more, fostering unity and a strong, cohesive team.
Future direction: Continuous innovation – continuous quality improvement
Regarding future development, Mr. Do Manh Ha stated that Eurofins – GENTIS has clearly defined goals:
- Complete CAP certification across all tests and labs nationwide
- Expand advanced testing services to support diagnosis and treatment
- Strengthen research collaboration with domestic and international partners
- Upgrade the Ho Chi Minh City laboratory to international standards and expand networks across the country
- Most importantly, continuously improve service quality so that clients experience not only precise results but also warmth and care from every GENTIS staff member
15 years – leading and growing
Fifteen years may not be a long journey, but it has firmly placed GENTIS on Vietnam’s genetic medicine map, leaving a lasting impression on customers, partners, and the community.
